World boxing champion Manny Pacquiao will sponsor the country’s biggest ever international darts tournament set Dec. 12 to 15 in his hometown General Santos City with to close to 500 local and foreign darters expected to compete.
“Sports has been my life and it has been very good to me, and I believe in giving back to sports what it has provided me and my family, I play darts myself and given the opportunity, I know Filipino darters can also make good in the international dart scene, this is why I am throwing my support behind this event,” said Pacquiao, who has also sponsored Pacman Cup dart tournaments previously in GenSan and Digos.
Dubbed as the Manny Pacquiao 2M International Darts Classic, the four-day tournament is being organized by the National Darts Federation of the Philippines (NDFP), headed by Tito Soncuya, and supported by the Mindanao Archipelago Dart Federation and the Association of General Santos City Darters and supported by the local government led by GenSan Mayor Pedro Acharon.
