RP beach volleyball gets Nestea backing

With proper training, support and exposure, Filipino beach volleyball players can be at par with the world’s best.

Philippine Beach Volleyball team coaching consultant Eric Lecain said the local players are now on the same level with their regional counterparts in terms of talent and skills but can easily compete on a world-class level given the right training and exposure.

Nestea, through its annual Nestea Beach Volley National Circuit, has been providing the country’s top players the tournaments they need to hone their talent and skills.

Now on its 12th year, the Nestea beach volley has long been considered as the country’s premier tournament, attracting the top collegiate teams and players in the land.

“Nestea beach volley has been playing a key role in the local beach volley scene and this would not be possible without the support of our partners, the Philippine Volleyball Federation and the participants,” said Nestlé AVP and Nestea consumer marketing manager Tina Samaco.

“Nestea beach has been on the forefront of beach volleyball in the country and the fact that it is a national event gives every beach volleyball player in the country the chance to participate,” said PVF president Pedro Mendoza.

Lecain said he is impressed with what the Nestea beach has accomplished over the years.

“Nestea beach continues to be a great platform for budding beach volleyball players who aspire to someday make it big in the international scene,” said Lecain.

For his part, Vince Piccio, Philippine Chef de Mission for the first Asian Beach Games, said he believes that with proper and constant training and great exposure, Filipino beach volley players can make their mark on the world’s beach volley stage.
