Bulls try to wrest solo lead

Reigning champion Red Bull, finishing the first half of the eliminations tied on top with Alaska Milk and Barangay Ginebra, starts its second-half grind by taking on Welcoat today in the Talk n Text PBA Fiesta Cup at the Araneta Coliseum.

The Bulls hit the halfway mark of the double-round eliminations with a 7-2 win-loss record although they have yet to play the Dragons.

The two teams play the first of their two games in the elims at 7:20 p.m. today with the Bulls fancied to sustain their hot surge and bolt out of a three-way logjam with the Aces and the Kings atop the field.

Talk n Text and Sta. Lucia Realty, tied at sixth place on their identical 3-5 win-loss records, clash in the other game at 4:35 p.m.

New Welcoat import Rob Sanders plays his second game in the local pro league and he may have a tougher assignment in James Penny.

A product of Providence College and an ABA All-Star player, Sanders had decent numbers in his debut but the Dragons fell short in their bid against the San Miguel Beermen, 90-96, Sunday.

Sanders tallied 29 points, 14 rebounds, six assists and four blocks versus the Beermen.
