Though aware that there’s a league rule pertaining to their case, everyone thought PBA commissioner Noli Eala could use his discretion to spare them of what they felt harsh punishment they suffered for leaving their bench during the commotion.
"We know there’s a rule, pero hindi naman yata commensurate yung fine lalo na doon sa mga staffers lang," said Red Bull team manager Tony Chua. "We should consider reviewing the rule. Standing during a commotion is a natural reaction. And it’s not bad because in such situation, who else would help pacify protagonists?"
"It’s too much for the utilities," said Lim on the P10,000 fines levied on the staffers.
Meanwhile, Guiao took exception on the "child-like" tag the PBA — in a press release – made in describing their action in the tumultuous Tacloban game.
"We’ve been sanctioned and everything should have been settled then. Why issue statement like that? Me and Frankie (Lim) have our stature to protect," said Guiao.
