Toni back to her old winning ways

International equestrienne Toni Leviste pulled off another impressive showing for the country after winning in the recently concluded "Premiere Cup" Showjumping competition held in Kuala, Lumpur, Malaysia last week.

Leviste steered her string of horses — "Globe Platinum Maktub," "Globe Platinum Tosca" and the ever reliable "Globe Platinum Leap of Faith"— to victory during the showjumping events held in honor of the former Malaysian Prime Minister, Mahathir Mohammad, a known equestrian enthusiast. She competed under "Team Globe Platinum in partnership with Sony Ericsson."

Leviste, along with teammates Joker Arroyo, the 17-year-old daughter of Sen. Joker Arroyo and ’95 SEAG Gold medalist Juan Ramon Lanza are competing in the Southeast Asian World Cup League in Malaysia in preparation for the SEA Games to be held in Manila in November. The fourth member of the team, 22-year-old Paola Zobel, is currently training in Spain and will proceed directly to Manila with her horse just before the Games.

The Philippine Equestrian Team is expected to bag the team and individual gold medals at the SEAG.
