In a duel between the title protagonists last year, the Hawks reasserted their mastery of the Wizards, 97-72, to extend their mind-boggling streak to 13 games in the season and 66 overall since the leagues inception in 2001.
The three-time National Inter-Collegiate champions are now three games away of a sweet sweep of the eliminations.
The Hawklets made their own show earlier in the day with an 84-58 whipping of the Junior Wizards in a game that firmed up their hold of the lead in the juniors division at 8-1.
With Jovit Gomez leading the charge, the Hawks dominated the Wizards from start to finish as the team of coach Ato Tolentino and team manager Atty. Ernesto de los Santos moved closer to the prestigious Bert Lina trophy which goes to the team which wins four consecutive titles.
Gomez finished with 24 points, 12 rebounds and three assists for the Hawks, who also defeated the Wizards, 88-73, in the first round last Aug. 14.
Gener Bernados added 20 points and 18 rebounds while Ryeon delos Trinos and Joeryll Salem chipped in 19 and 12 points, respectively.
James Nograda carried the fight for the Wizards with 22 markers.
