Import Damien Cantrell and Fil-foreign aces Asi Taulava, Harvey Carey and Jimmy Alapag joined hands in a vicious fourth-quarter attack that had the All-Filipino champions Phone Pals rolling over the Invitational Cup titlists Aces in the Air Philippines-sponsored out-of-town sortie.
The Phone Pals nailed a third straight win following a losing debut versus the Shell Turbochargers while the Aces suffered a third successive defeat after ruling the brief mid-season Invitationals.
Cantrell had another double-double outing with 30 points and 15 rebounds while Taulava added 25 points and Alapag chipped in 15.
Chris Carrawell continued to struggle in his comeback stint with the Aces, making only 21 points.
The Aces actually put up a good fight, dominating the first half of play with a 20-14 lead in the first quarter and a 35-34 edge at the turn.
