Sanctioned by Federacion Internationale Natation Association (FINA) and the Asian Amateur Swimming Federacion (AASF), this annual event is organized by the Philippine Amateur Swimming Association (PASA) and is supported by Speedo, the provider of the Official Uniform of the Philippine Team.
Last year, the Philippine National Age Group Swim team placed second overall, breaking three international age group records and 21 national age group records in Bangkok, Thailand.
Japan-based Miguel Molina broke the SEA age group record in the 200 meters breaststroke with his swim of 2:23.86. Molina raked in seven gold medals as well as the Best Performance Award for age group 15-17 male category.
Meanwhile, Alistair Kennedy broke the 50 meters butterfly and 50 meters backstroke SEA record with a time of 29:19 seconds and 31:31 seconds, respectively. Kennedy got two golds and two silvers in the 11-12 age group category.
In the girls division, 16-year-old Luica surpassed the previous SEA record in the 50 meters backstroke event, clocking 31.87 seconds. Dacanay bagged two golds, two silvers and two bronze medals in the 16-17 group category.
Speedo, the world’s leading aquatic sports and equipment brand will also support the National team headed for Southeast Asian Games in Vietnam at the end of the year.
