More than P7-million in prizes will be disputed in the weeklong affair, headlined by a two-day championship card on Nov. 16 and 17 among the countrys top thoroughbreds in each age and sex division.
MARHO President Aristeo Putch Puyat officially announced that the event will officially start today with the opening day card of Philippine Racing Clubs five-day racing schedule.
"This yearly renewal of the San Miguel - MARHO Breeders Cup is a fitting tribute to the many local horse owners and breeders who have unflinchingly supported the program since its inception in 1995," Puyat said.
San Miguel Beer, the countrys premier beer, is once again the major sponsor the whole festivities, which will be bannered no less by six championship races and a series of special invitational races.
