Cusipag, former PBA governor, dies

Salvador Cusipag Jr., who served as Red Bull’s representative to the PBA board of governors for almost two years, passed away last Friday, almost six months after undergoing a heart bypass.

His remains lie in state at the Arlington Memorial Chapel along Araneta Ave. in Quezon City with interment set Thursday at the Himlayang Pilipino in Tandang Sora.

Cusipag, simply called Jun by friends and colleagues, was the assistant vice president of the Agfa Cinefilms division of Fotokina Marketing. He’s been in and out of the hospital since his May operation.

Cusipag was a also a member of the PBA marketing committee from Aug. 2000 until April this year, actively participating in board meetings and marketing committee deliberations.

"He was known to be very sales oriented and his stand was always to ‘sell’ the PBA to the different publics," said PBA executive director Sonny Barrios of the man who will also be remembered for his golden voice.
