According to Philippine Taekwondo Association president Robert Aventajado, the country’s leading and aspiring female jins will compete in three categories — senior, junior and grade school (by age and height).
The tourney, says organizing committee chairman Sung Chon Hong, gives women the opportunity to show their talents and skills in the sport, which has proved to be a rich source of medals for the Philippines in various international competitions.
Even taekwondo bets from the different military branches are also expected to see action.
The tourney is part of the PTA’s commitment to the development of sports, more particularly in the grassroots.
Sports enthusiasts, particularly the young ones who have become addicted to taekwondo, are invited to watch the event which unfolds at 9 a.m.
