The high-flying Cyrus Baguio exploded with 17 points, most of them coming in the third quarter where the Teeth Sparklers literally broke the backs of their younger opponents.
It was the second win in as many games for Kutitap in the tournament ushering in the PBLs 20th season. The Teeth Sparklers defeated Shark in overtime last Friday, 73-69.
Also making its presence felt was Blu Detergent which outlasted opening-day winner and the leagues newest ballclub John-O Juzz, 76-69. Both teams are now tied at 1-1.
Marlon Legaspi did most of the damage against John-O Juzz by hitting 18 points on top of three rebounds and the same number of blocks.
Later in the night, ICTSI-La Salle pulled off a one-sided victory over Ana Freezers, 88-71, to join Kutitap on top. Mike Cortez topped with 20 points as the ICTSI Archers notched their second win while sending the Freezers to the cellar at 0-2. Joey Villar
