DFA sees end to pug’s visa woes

The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) yesterday said there will be no more postponement of the Feb. 24 "Rumble in Antipolo" featuring Filipino Manny Pacquiao and North Korean Tetsutora Senrima at the Ynares Sports Center.

Eric Ricafort of the DFA, Visa Department made the assurance by saying his staff is working double time to ensure the arrival of Senrima by Monday.

"We’re doing our part on this matter. Siyempre, karangalang din ng bayan ang nakasalalay sa labang ito ni Manny (Pacquiao), and my staff is following up details from the Embassy in Osaka," said Ricafort.

The 31-year-old Senrima failed to arrive last Sunday, due to visa problem. Though he was born and raised in Japan, he still holds a North Korean passport.

"We’re working on it and probably within this week, tapos na," added Ricafort.

The 12-round encounter presented by San Miguel Beer will be for Pacquiao’s fourth defense of the WBC International Superbantamweight crown.
