Philippine Olympic Committee fact-finding body co-chairman Go Teng Kok decided to inhibit himself from the investigation of the karate controversy and rid the case of innuendoes that the probe would be biased against beleaguered Philippine Karatedo Federation president Pochollo Veguillas.
"I decided to inhibit myself from this investigation so as to deny charges and accusations that I'm biased against Veguillas," said Go.
On the other hand, Veguillas said in the weekly Scoop sa Kamayan media forum that he has legal basis for not attending the hearing.
"I believe we can solve this problem on our own. The only time the POC can come in is if we can't solve it anymore," said Veguillas.
The committee, which is chaired by former POC president Jose Sering and co-chaired by Ral Rosario, Claudio Altura and Nestor Ilagan, asked the complaining karatekas, led by national team coach David Lay and Pochollo's younger brothers Joey and Buddy, to submit to the body their individual sworn statements on the POC's next hearing on Thursday. -
