ILOILO CITY, Philippines — A seven-year old boy died after he was struck with a stone by his 11-year-old playmate and schoolmate at Sara town in Iloilo.
Chan Peter Gelasan, Grade 1 pupil of Ferraris Elementary School, succumbed to multiple wounds on his head.
According to police reports, Chan Peter and the Grade 4 attacker were playing hole-in at the back of their school after school hours.
The 11-year-old boy allegedly got angry after he lost the game to his younger opponent. He then picked up a stone and struck this on the victim’s head.
After Chan Peter fell off the pavement, a girl schoolmate claimed that the suspect did not stop from striking the victim. He allegedly continued to hit the victim’s head with the same stone. The girl, who was momentarily stunned by what she saw, asked for help.
Chan Peter was initially brought to Sara District Hospital but was later moved to the Western Visayas Medical Center in Iloilo City where he was pronounced dead.
The suspect was immediately arrested after the incident. A knife was also taken from his possession. He is now in custody of the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) for disposition of his case. (FREEMAN)
