CEBU, Philippines - A criminal complaint for murder was filed with the Department of Justice (DOJ) against those alleged to have been responsible for the killing of Mambusao, Capiz Vice Mayor Abel Martinez last May 4, an ABSCBN News report said yesterday.
Charged by the Capiz Provincial Police Office and its Special Task Group were Geger Francisco of Barangay Maliao, Tapaz and Sunday Danid of Barangay Daan Sur, Tapaz.
Six “John Does” and a “Peter Doe” (mastermind) were included as respondents.
Seven sworn statements were attached to the complaint, as well as the Philippine National Police medico-legal report, SOCO report, investigation report, and autopsy report, among others.
The 79-year-old Martinez, a doctor of medicine by profession, was shot by a lone gunman in front of his house on Rizal St., Mambusao Poblacion proper.
Martinez sustained several bullet wounds in the head and back. He was rushed to the Mambusao District Hospital where he was declared dead on arrival. (FREEMAN)
