Cebu flights now reach E. Samar

GUIUAN, E. SAMAR, Philippines  — Mayor Annaliza Gonzales Kwan of this town has announced that flights from Guiuan to Cebu and back are now in full operation.

Kwan told reporters, who covered the maiden flight from this town to Cebu last Feb. 20, that airline company MidSea Express started servicing these routes since March 3.

“We are happy to have finally convinced MidSea Express owner, Capt. Ronan Villanueva, to open this regular flight, not being served by other airlines,” said Kwan.

“This will increase the accessibility to Eastern Samar by tourists and investors from other provinces,” she said.

The mayor was optimistic that this latest development in the air transport industry would bring tourists and investors to Guiuan town and the entire Eastern Samar province, as well as increase business activities between here and Cebu.

Kwan said the MidSea Express’ 19-seater aircrafts, servicing the Guiuan-Cebu-Guiuan route, are new and has comfortable legroom for its passengers, with its executive class accommodation at economy rates.

The plane will depart Cebu for Guiuan every Monday at 7:30 a.m. and from Cebu to Guiuan every Saturday at 7 a.m.  (FREEMAN)
