ORMOC CITY, Philippines — Mayor Eric Codilla yesterday announced that the city government had approved the release of P1.5 million in calamity assistance to the local governments of Valencia in Negros Oriental and the cities of Cagayan de Oro and Iligan, the hardest hit areas by typhoon Sendong.
The money, divided at P500,000 each, will be delivered by Monday either personally or through the bank account of the recipient LGU, adding that he already contacted Valencia town Mayor Enrique Gonzales and will be informing the other mayors also about the Ormoc assistance.
Codilla meanwhile told The FREEMAN that the city government would be distributing this week the P25,000 cash gift to each of its 1,040 regular and casual employees.
He further announced that his administration is now ready for the bidding of the construction of the P40-million hospital in Brgy San Pablo to provide a centralized health services for constituents of all barangays in the city.
The hospital will have a laboratory, pharmacy, three operating rooms, 10 private rooms and wards for indigent patients, as well as a center for outpatients, Codilla added. (FREEMAN)
