Antique governor suspends PB member

SAN JOSE, ANTIQUE ,Philippines  - Governor Exequiel Javier issued on August 23 Executive Order No. 135 suspending for 60 days from office Provincial Board Member Santiago Lotilla of Sibalom town in this province.

The suspension order of the governor was based on the minutes of PB session, dated last July 8, which voted and found that there is a prima facie case to warrant the institution of a formal administrative proceeding against Lotilla.

An administrative case against Lotilla-entitled Misconduct, Oppression & Conduct Prejudicial to the Best Interest of Service-was filed by Romeo Antonio, a radio announcer of DYKA Radio Station in the province.

It was learned that during May 2010 elections, Antonio was airing the alleged anomalous acts of Lotilla and this caused the latter to proceed to the radio station where Antonio was the anchorman at the time.

Lotilla allegedly grabbed the microphone at the radio station booth and poke it to Antonio prompting the broadcaster to file the case against Lotilla.

Lotilla has yet to issue his side on the case and on his suspension.
