Rapiz relieved as Cadiz City Police chief

BACOLOD CITY, Philippines — Superintendent Santiago Rapiz was relieved as Cadiz City chief of police effective April 18.

Police Regional Office-6 director Chief Supt. Cipriano Querol, who was in Negros Occidental the other day, said the relief order of Rapiz came directly from the PNP National Headquarters with no specific reason.

Taking over the post is his deputy, Insp. John Despi, who is now designated as OIC, while he would be reassigned to the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office.

Rapiz was formerly assigned as chief of police of Escalante City, which like Cadiz, is reportedly a hotspot of illegal numbers game. — THE FREEMAN
