MANILA, Philippines – The Adamson Falcons banked on Ingrid Sewa’s presence, while the San Beda-A Red Cubs drew strength from Adven Jess Diputado and Javee Mocon as they put away their respective foes in the 19th Fr. Martin Summer Cup.
The 6’10 Sewa banged in 15 points for the Falcons, who swamped PATTS College of Aeronautics, 80-40, for their fourth win in five games at the St. Placid gymnasium in San Beda College-Manila campus in Mendiola.
Diputado and Mocon produced 16 and 14 points, respectively, as the Red Cubs marched to their third consecutive triumph in the junior division.
The University of Santo Tomas Tiger Cubs (3-3) crushed the San Beda-B Red Cubs(3-2), 89-65, in another high school tiff.
The Falcons moved behind the unbeaten University of the Philippines Maroons in Group B, and both are in contention for slots in the semifinals, according to commissioner Robert de la Rosa.
The Red Cubs are ahead in Group of the junior side, and are also unbeaten with the Fatima University Junior Phoenix.
