LOS ANGELES – Hindi naglaro si Spurs guard Tony Parker nitong Martes ng gabi sa laban ng Los Angeles Clippers at sinabi ni coach San Antonio coach Gregg Popovich na matagal matetengga ang six-time All Star dahil sa multiple injuries.
Nauna nang sinabi ni Popovich na maaaring mawala sa aksiyon si Parker “for the foreseeable future’’ dahil sa maraming nananakit sa kanyang likod, groin at calf.
Ang 13-year veteran, lumaro ng 11 minutes noong Linggo sa NBA All-Star game ang leading scorer ng Spurs. Siya rin ang tanging player na nag-a-average ng halos 30 minutes para sa Southwest Division-leading San Antonio.
Noong nakaraang season, si Parker ang tanging NBA player na nag-average ng hindi bababa sa 20 points at seven assists at may shooting na mahigit 50 percent mula sa field at 80 percent sa free throws.
“I think he’s just spent, mentally and physically,’’ sabi ni Popovich. “The last five games or so was about 65-70 percent, at the most, and he’s developed a little nagging thing every time. He’s had a shoulder and a hip and a calf and all this kind of stuff, and now it’s his Achilles a little bit.â€
