MANILA, Philippines – Limang gintong medalya ang nakikita ni Philippine Swimming League (PSL) president Susan Papa na makukuha ng delegasyong ilalaban sa 2015 Japan Swimming Championship sa Tokyo, Japan.
Mahigit na 200 swimming ang kasali sa ligang magsisimula sa Sabado at kasama rito ang mahuhusay na manlalangoy mula China, US, Great Britain at host Japan.
“This is a very good exposure and experience for PSL swimmers since they will be competing against elite swimmers from Japan, China, United States and Great Britain. The swimmers are very excited,” wika ni PSL secretary general Maria Susan Benasa.
Mangunguna sa koponan sina Indian Ocean All-Star Challenge gold medalists Micaela Jasmine Mojdeh ng Immaculate Heart of Mary College-Parañaque, Kyla Soguilon ng Kalibo Sun Yat Sen School, Sean Terence Zamora ng University of Santo Tomas at Drew Benett Magbag ng University of the Philippines Integrated School.
Ang 9-anyos na si Mojdeh ay sasali sa girls’ 9 years 100m butterfly, 100m breaststroke, 50m breaststroke at 50m butterfly habang si Soguilon ay sa girls’ 10 years 50m backstroke, 50m freestyle, 50m butterfly at 100m Individual Medley lalangoy.
Si Zamora ay kakampanya sa boys’ 15 years 200m backstroke, 200m IM, 200m freestyle at 100m backstroke, habang si Magbag ay panlaban sa boys’ 16 years 200m breaststroke, 200m freestyle, 100m breaststroke at 200m IM.
“Achievements that kept on piling up for our swimmers because of the unbelievable exposure that PSL have been giving them. So no matter where the road leads us. Even if Jasmine tells me that she does not like swimming anymore. It is a life well lived. No moments are ever wasted,” wika naman ni PSL National Capital Region Regional Director Joan Mojdeh na ang tinutukoy ay ang 12 international competitions na sinalihan ni Micaela Jasmine kahit nasa ikatlong taon pa lamang sa sport.
Ang iba pang kasapi ng delegasyon at ang kanilang lalahukang event ay sina Paul Christian King Cusing (boys’ 15 years 50m fly, 100m back, 200m back at 200m IM), Charize Juliana Esmero (girls’12 years 50m back, 100m back, 100m IM at 200m free), Lans Rawlin Donato (boys’ 17 years 100m fly, 50m fly, 50m free at 100m free), Rio Lorenzo Malapitan (boys’ 12 years 50m fly, 50m free, 100m breast at 50m breast), at Paula Carmela Cusing (girls’ 12 100m fly, 50m fly, 100m free at 50m free).
Panlaban din sina Joanna Amor Cervas (girls’ 10 100m fly, 50m free, 50m fly at 100m IM), Lucio Cuyong II (boys’ 12 50m fly, 50m free, 100m breast at 50m breast), Kobe Soguilon (boys’ 16 100m free, 50m free, 200m back at 100m back) at Angela Claire Torrico (girls’ 9 50m back, 100m IM, 100m back at 50m free).
