Just for supported bets, Kusug presence at Rama rally not yet sign of alliance

CEBU, Philippines - The Kugi Uswag Sugbo Party, founded by former mayor Alvin Garcia and now headed by his son Raymond Garcia, said they will release the complete list of endorsed candidates before the month ends.

“As much as we would like to finalize our list, we would like to do it in the most democratic way.  Just like what happened earlier, it was not planned to only endorse four,” Garcia told reporters.

As opposed to earlier reports that members of Kusug will automatically be endorsed, he said that several other considerations must be taken before the party decides.

Garcia was seen at the Team Rama proclamation rally, the “Panag-abot,” last Saturday evening.

“I just arrived from Hawaii.  My parents are still there that’s why my father is not here,” he said.

But the party chairman said this does not mean that Kusug and Team Rama are formalizing their alliance for this election.

“I am here to support the candidates that we are endorsing.  This does not mean we will not be endorsing candidates from the other party. As I said, it all depends on the party’s decision during the next assembly. Maybe we can have it by the end of the month,” Garcia said.
