MANILA, Philippines — Patuloy na kumikilos nang mabagal ang bagyong "Maymay" patimogkanluran sa ibabaw ng Philippine Sea habang inaasahang pauulanan nang malakas ang Cagayan at Isabela.

Natagpuan ang mata ng tropical depression 305 kilometro silangan ng Baler, Aurora bandang 4 a.m. kanina, ayon sa PAGASA, Miyerkules.

  • Bugso ng hangin: hanggang 55 kilometro kada oras

  • Direksyon: patimogkanluran

"Today, moderate to heavy with at times intense rains over Cagayan and Isabela.  Light to moderate with at times heavy rains over Aurora," ayon sa pahayag ng state weather bureau kanina.

"Under these conditions, scattered to widespread flooding (including flash floods) and rain-induced landslides are expected especially in areas that are highly or very highly susceptible to these hazard as identified in hazard maps, and in localities with significant antecedent rainfall."

Kasalukuyan namang nakataas pa rin ang Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1 sa ngayon.

  • extreme northern portion ng Quezon (General Nakar, Infanta) kasama ang Pollilo Islands 

Dagdag pa ng meteorologists, maaaring nararanasan na ang malalakas na hangin (strong breeze hanggang near gale strength) sa mga lugar kung saan epektibo ang Signal no. 1.

"On the forecast track, the center of Tropical Depression MAYMAY is forecast to move slowly westward or remain almost stationary in the next 12 hours before it slightly accelerates and move westward towards the eastern coast of Central Luzon," sabi pa nila.

"'MAYMAY' is forecast to weaken into a low pressure area as it approaches the landmass."
