Pagkumpleto sa WADA requirements tiniyak ng PSC

MANILA, Philippines — Tiniyak ng Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) na makukumpleto nila ang hinihinging requirements ng World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) bago ang itinakdang deadline.

Ayon sa PSC, nagdaos na ang PHI-NADO (Phi­lippine National Anti-Do­ping Organization) ng ilang serye ng aktibidad noong Setyembre hanggang Disyembre bago pa man ang inilabas na extended deadline ng WADA noong Enero 22.

“After receiving evalua­tions from WADA, certain revisions relating to critical requirements of the Code are now being worked upon. PHI-NADO has reported that we are nearing closure for these requirements within a 21-day period,” ani ng sports agency.

Kamakalawa ay nagbanta ang WADA na posibleng hindi makalahok ang bansa sa mga Olympic Games, Asian Games, Southeast Asian Games at mga world championships kung hindi tatalima ang PSC sa WADA Code.

Noong Huwebes ay nagpulong sina PSC chairman Richard Bachmann, WADA officials Ying Cui at Perumal Saravana, Southeast Asian Regional Anti-Doping Organization director general Gobinathan Nair,  PSC Executive Director Paulo Francisco Tatad, PHI-NADO head Alejandro Pineda at Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) secretary general Wharton Chan.
