MANILA, Philippines – Habang nangyayari ang 2015 PBA Rokkie Draft ay walang magaganap na mga trades.
Ito ang nilinaw ng bagong PBA Commissioner na si Chito Narvasa sa 2015 Rookie Draft ngayong hapon sa Midtown Atrium ng Robinson’s Place sa Ermita, Manila.
Ayon kay Narvasa, ayaw niyang magkamali sa kanyang unang trabaho bilang PBA Commissioner.
“I’m new on the job and I don’t want to make mistakes in deciding whether or not to push through with a trade on the floor,” sabi ni Narvasa.
Nakipag-usap na rin si Narvasa sa mga PBA coaches tungkol sa mga trades.
“I’ve talked this over with the coaches and we all agreed to dispense with trades on the floor only for this year. It would be counterproductive if we approve a trade on the floor only to void it later in case there are issues that warrant a rescindment. I’ve asked for more time to be familiar with the players,” ani Narvasa.
Nang umupo bilang PBA Commissioner noong Agosto 1 ay dalawang trades ang inaprubahan ni Narvasa.
Ito ay ang three-team trade deal sa pagitan ng Talk ‘N Text, Blackwater at Meralco.
Ibinigay ng Talk ‘N Text si veteran guard Jimmy Alapag sa Meralco na inilipat naman sina Mike Cortez at James Sena sa Blackwater, habang nagtungo si Larry Rodriguez sa Tropang Texters mula sa Elite.
Ang ikalawa ay ang pagdadala ng Rain or Shine kay forward Jervy Cruz sa Globalport kapalit ni 6’6 Jewel Ponferada kasama ang second round pick ng Batang Pier.
Sinabi ni Narvasa na maaaring umabot sa sixth round ang PBA Draft.
