MANILA, Philippines - Sa panukalang contractual agreement ni Manny Pacquiao para sa kanilang laban ni Floyd Maywea-ther, Jr. ay magbabayad ng $5 milyon ang isa sa kanilang mapapatunayang gumagamit ng banned substance.
“It was very simple,” sabi ni Michael Koncz, ang Canadian adviser ni Pacquiao. “If Manny failed a test, he would have to pay $5 million. If Floyd failed, he would have to pay $5 million.”
Ngunit hindi ito simple para kay Mayweather.
Nakatanggap ang abogado ni Pacquiao na si David Moroso ng isang liham mula sa legal counsel ni Mayweather na si Jeremiah Rey-nolds na nakasaad na tumatanggi ang kanyang kliyente na pumasok sa $5 million drug testing penalty agreement.
Ang naturang contractual agreement na ipinadala ng kampo ni Pacquiao sa legal representatives ni Mayweather ay hindi kasama sa official term sheet ng kanilang laban.
Sa kanilang fight contract ay nakasaad ang pagsailalim ng dalawa sa full drug testing na pamamahalaan ng United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA).
Ipinanukala ni Pacquiao ang natu-rang $5 million drug testing penalty para tiyakin na wala sa kanilang dalawa ni Mayweather na gumagamit ng performance-enhancing substances kagaya ng testosterone, human growth hormone at energy-boosting EPO.
“I have no idea what they’re thinking about. If they truly wanted to clean up the sport, I think it sets a good exam-ple to the world that there’s nothing to hide. I want to put my money where my mouth is. Over the years, they’ve made accusations against us. They never requested the penalty. Manny was adamant about it,” sabi ni Koncz.
Ilang taon na ang nakakaraan ay inakusahan ni Mayweather si Pacquiao na gumagamit ng “performance enhancing drugs sa kanyang mga laban.
Dahi dito ay idinemanda ni Pacquiao si Mayweather pati na si Oscar De La Hoya ng Golden Boy Promotions. (RC)
