ORLANDO, Fla. -- Para kay Victor Oladipo, ang first-round draft choice ng Orlando Magic, hindi maiiwasan na ikumpara siya kay Miami Heat superstar Dwyane Wade.
“I don’t know whether it’s fair or it’s just because Tom Crean is my coach,†sabi ni Oladipo isang araw matapos siyang kunin ng Orlando sa second overall sa NBA draft.
“We have similar parts to our game. I’m just trying to be the best Victor Oladipo possible,†dagdag pa nito.
Naglaro din si Wade para kay Crean at Marquette bago hinirang na fifth overall pick ng Heat noong 2003 draft.
Isang pulgada ang taas ni Wade kumpara kay Oladipo, naglaro ng tatlong taon sa Indiana para sa kopoÂnan ni Crean.
“I’m not big on comparisons because it’s not fair to Dwyane,†wika ni Crean. “Dwyane’s one of the best plaÂyers in the world, and Victor just turned 21. When it comes to the kind of people that they are, the kind of teammates they are, the way they made their teammates better, (the comparison) is huge.â€
Nagposte si Oladipo ng average na 13.6 points sa kanyang final season sa Indiana at naglista ng 10.7 aveÂrage sa loob ng tatlong taon.
Ngunit hindi niya ikinukunsidera ang sarili bilang isang scorer.
