“Thank you Tourism Secretary Berna Romulo Puyat for gracing the opening ceremony of QCinema 2018 featuring more than 40 films from here and around the world. QCinema is now the only International film festival in the country and we look forward to our city’s inclusion in the world map as a major film hub and a major tourist destination for cineastes,” sabi ni VM Joy na kasalukuyang designated acting mayor bilang nasa Germany si Mayor Herbert Bautista sa FB account.
Magkaibigan sina Sec. Berna at VM Joy at bilib ang huli sa mga nagawa ni Sec. Berna. ‘This is my dear friend Tourism Sec Berna Romulo Puyat, who came to the opening of QCinema, not only because she wanted to learn more about “film tourism” as a niche unique to Quezon City, but because she wanted to show her support as well as her trust and confidence in me as a leader.
“Before becoming one of the nation’s most influential people and one of the most hard-working, enduring and effective government officials around, she ran for public office in the 1st District of Quezon City. She was a magna cum laude professor from UP and was serving under HUDCC. But in the tradition of old politics, she fell victim to fake news, and character assassination by her opponent, even having been called a Drug Addict, when she had never even touched the stuff.
“The world is indeed round, and from being one of the Department of Agriculture’s assets having served several Presidents for many years, she is now one of the most trusted advisers of PRD. But I often wonder what would have happened had the people of District 1 been more critical and discerning with their choice then. That district would perhaps be the most progressive among our six districts now with this wonder woman at the helm. But one district’s loss became the nation’s gain. God’s plans are indeed more potent than man’s plans. God bless you Berna. You make our nation proud,” pahayag pa ni VM Joy na isa sa pinaka-masipag na pulitiko.
Anyway, aside from Sec. Berna, present din si Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) Chairperson Liza Dino sa opening night ng QCinema. “A true champion of Arts and culture especially film. We need more people in government who are willing to invest on using cinema to build our national identity and encourage creativity. Salamat QC Vice Mayor Joy Belmonte! Let’s continue to work together so we can make Quezon city a UNESCO Creative City in the field of Film just like Busan, South Korea. This will definitely lead to more integration among stakeholders to capitalize on film as a creative industry. Let’s do this! Film Development Council of the Philippines is here to support,” pahayag ni Chair Liza kay VM Joy na nagpasalamat Chair Liza “Thank you dear Liza Dino-Seguerra, my fellow dreamer, for your kind words. May our vision for our city become a reality.”
Anyway, mapapanood sa selected theaters – Trinoma, UP Town Center, Gateway and Galleria ang 40 films na kasali sa nasabing international filmfest.
Para sa mga gustong bumili ng ticket available ito for P1,500 for 10 screenings at available sa QCinema Desk from October 22 until October 26.
