Tanong lang, Salve A.: Ba’t kaya ’di nagpa-feel ng kanyang presence si former Laguna Governor Jorge Estregan, although, may entry siya in this MMFF 2014.
Unlike in the past, when he would organize not just one presscon but several others, this time, except that the film’s trailer has been showing on TV since early October, hindi mo makikita si Governor ER na nagpu-promote ng kanyang entry sa kahit anong TV station.
What gives, Gov. ER?
Playing his leading lady nga pala in Magnum Muslim .357 is Sam Pinto.
Lahat ng pelikula ng Star Cinema kumita raw lahat
Grabe, as in grabeng saya, Salve A. ng katatapos lang na Christmas party organized for their employees ng Star Cinema, headed of course, by Malou Santos, managing director, and Direk Olive Lamasan, foremost director of the film firm and head ng PACT (Production and Creative Training Unit).
Lahat ng employees of the film company came. Ganundin ang Star Creative, Star Music, at MOR 101.9.
Manning the event were JD Ching, head office Operations and Administration, Star Cinema Operation, and Icie Torio, HR (Human Resources).
Hosts of the event, who contributed to the kasayahan and kasiyahan, were Eric John Salut (EJ to his colleagues and friends) of Dreamscape Television Entertainment; DJ Chacha and, DJ Jhai Ho, both of MOR 101.9 and Milo Elmido, Star Cinema Production.
Ilan sa mga artistang ‘suki’ na artista ng Star Cinema na dumalo sa party were Iza Calzado, Gretchen Barretto, Joseph Marco, Alex Gonzaga, at JC de Vera.
There were prizes galore, bukod pa sa mga pa-contest, which were all represented by the 11 departments of the company, and of course, its corresponding ‘arms’ plus a Star of the Night proclamation, both male and female.
But the true highlight of the event was when the band hired for the evening played at mapaindak ang mga nag-party.
Soon, nakita sina MNS (Malou Santos) and Direk Olive dancing to everyone who grabbed them for their partners.
Obvious na everyone went home happy, as they did not only enjoy the dance floor, kumbaga, but busog na busog pa sa pagmamahal at pagpapahalaga na inialay sa lahat ng kumpanya, especially ng gabing iyon.
Speaking of Direk Olive, fondly called ‘Inang’ by those who closely work with her, siya ang namahala ng itinuturing na pinaka-blockbuster hit, ’di lang ng Star Cinema but the entire local films as well, the Piolo Pascual-Toni Gonzaga starrer, Starting Over Again.
Nakakayanig ang figures na kinita ng movie, which run for more than one month in theaters nationwide.
Actually, according to Dory Jacilla, head Distribution and Booking, halos lahat ng pelikula ng Star Cinema released this year, were blockbusters, although, she admits na superb talaga ang kinita ng Starting Over Again.
Dory says she has high hopes for the Metro Manila Filmfest (MMFF) two entries ng Star Cinema, The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin and Feng Shui. Pini-predict niyang magiging both top grossers ang dalawang pelikula.
The Amazing, of course, directed by Wenn Deramas, stars Vice Ganda, Richard Yap, Alex Gonzaga, at Bimby Aquino Yap.
Kris Aquino and Coco Martin topbill naman Feng Shui, with Chito Roño directing.
