What more can Anne Curtis ask for, now that she, more or less, again has put one over actors of her generation.
As is common knowledge, by now, Anne turns international star via her first appearance in the action-packed love story-suspense thriller, Blood Ransom, directed by international Fil-Am megman, France dela Torre.
“You wouldn’t believe it, but I have two biggest frustrations, which I hope I will realize before the year ends,” ani Anne, sounding excited.
“Firstly, gusto kong maging isang recording star, na may string of best selling albums.
“Second, na I can hardly wait na matupad na, anytime soon, is to be a contestant of the singing reality show, The Voice Philippines, now on its second season.
“Willing ako to take the necessary audition. And, if luckily, I succeed, I actually will not mind, when during the contest proper, after I have sing my piece onstage, not one among Lea (Salonga), Bamboo, Sarah (Geronimo), will not bother to turn around sa kanilang kinauupuan.
“Ang mahalaga, na-experience ko how it is to be a contestant sa The Voice, Philippines,” patuloy ni Anne.
Lea, Bamboo, Sarah acted as coaches cum judges in the first season of The Voice Philippines na ang nanalo ay si Mitoy Yonting.
It was too, the experience of holding a concert at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, which overwhelmed Anne, after the tremendous success of Annebisyosa.
Her repeat of the concert ay hindi as successful as the first one. Ganunpaman, happy naman pa rin daw siya. Ang importante, natupad ang pangarap niya - twice man lang na makapag-perform sa Big Dome.
The realization to do a movie for an American film firm and for international release is another big dream for Anne. But she was, so speak, not so keen on the idea na magkaka-career sa Hollywood, dahil parang next to impossible nga naman ito, kung iisipin.
Bagama’t even before nagka-interest ang E Channel sa mga Gutierrezes na i-feature in their show, nakapag-produce na sila ng isang special, focusing on Anne both as a person and professional.
Nag-create ng trending ang naging special episode about Anne sa E nang ipalabas ito.
“But with Blood Ransom, I had to submit to an audition. And, lucky, for me, dahil I got the approval of Direk Francis, who, likewise is producing the movie.
Alexander Dreymon, the American actor, who plays Anne’s leading man in Blood Ransom, had no idea about Anne’s status sa Pilipinas, both as an actress and performer, bago niya ito nakatrabaho.
He confessed na nagkaroon siya ng special fondness for Anne dahil daw bukod sa mabait ito, professional din.
At the presscon for Blood Ransom, Alexander was asked kung ano, so far, ang mga Tagalog words na natutuhan na niya.
Ang mabilis niyang sagot: “Kinikilig ako.”
Of the Filipino food na kanya nang natikman, type raw niya ang balut. Kaya, kumakain daw siya nito, for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Nabanggit din ni Alexander na dark ang role ni Anne sa pelikula nila na sinang-ayunan ni Anne.
Produced by Tectonic Films, Blood Ransom will be released in the country by Viva Films, Anne’s home studio, on October 29. In the U.S., it’s release date is October 31.
