Unlike her younger sister Claudine Barretto, busy si Gretchen sa shooting for two movies. Star Cinema’s The Trial, and The Janitor, an indie film earmarked for the Cinemalaya Filmfest and directed by Mike Tuviera.
While The Janitor’s other members of the cast has yet to be announced, in The Trial (tentative lang daw ang title na ito), Gretchen is reunited with former fellow Regal Baby Richard Gomez, John Lloyd Cruz, at Jessy Mendiola.
The Trial is Gretchen’s first movie with Star Cinema, na nagse-celebrate ng 20th anniversary.
‘‘Heard this movie,’’ ani Gretchen, ‘‘will be the film firm’s closing presentation for their celebration.
‘‘How nice,’’ pahayag pa ni Gretchen.
Directed by Chito Roño, Gretchen said she can’t say enough of the project. And to this, the fact that she has long dreamed na makasama sa isang project si John Lloyd.
‘‘I’ve seen most of his movies and I’d say, he is one of the best of his generation,’’ aniya.
Of Jessy, Gretchen said she looks forward na makatrabaho ito. Although ‘di niya raw nasubaybayan nang husto ang last series nitong Maria Mercedes.
Of the current controversy sa pagitan naman nina Gretchen and Claudine, a kibitzer said: ‘‘It’s on trial pa rin.’’

Naunang umalis ang dalawang 2NE1 members na si Bom and Minzy, dahil may individual commitments ang mga ito sa Korea.
