Definitely shelved na pala ang The Gift, which would have been Ogie Alcasid’s first running series for TV5.
The Gift would have had Mike Tuviera, who directed also Derek Ramsay’s Kidlat. He is the son of APT Entertainment head Tony Tuviera.
Ogie will still be busy with two shows though. Tropa Mo ’Ko… Unli and The Mega and The Songwriter.
Ogie will soon reportedly lead a recording firm that Manny V. Pangilinan will put up.
Regine magto-tour
Patience is a virtue, as far as Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez-Alcasid is concerned.
Regine realized this daw when she and husband Ogie Alcasid were not expecting for her to get pregnant after their wedding. But as God willed it, they had Nate, now two years old.
Hulog ng langit talaga si Nate para sa kanila ni Ogie. No wonder that when Universal Records presented her with the song, Hulog Ka ng Langit, immediately, she thought of it as an appropriate song to dedicate to Nate. Actually, not just to him but to all mothers and wives, whose unconditional love from their husbands, and children lalo na, cannot be questioned.
Now the title of an album, which Universal Records recently released, it can be appreciated even by the kids, Regine said, as the songs are the types na magandang pakinggan. And truly, it hits the hearts ng mga nakikinig.
Likewise, the album, according to Regine, has the best arrangers and musicians in the country. Kumbaga, Universal Records gave it all din, para maging one of a kind talaga itong Hulog Ka ng Langit which also serves as the title track ng album. After all, the record company, to quote Ramon Chuaying, executive vice president, at Ms. Kathleen Dy-Go, managing director, will give part of the proceeds of the album to the Philippine National Red Cross (PNRC) which is active in helping the Typhoon Yolanda victims.
In promoting the album, Regine will do a Hulog Ka ng Langit tour in the following venues: SM Marilao (Nov. 28, Thursday); SM Pampanga (Dec. 1, Sunday); and SM Sta. Rosa (Dec. 11, Wednesday). All shows start at 5 p.m.
Dina kuntento na sa Ilocos, pabisi-bisita na lang sa Maynila
Actress Dina Bonnevie pala, since her marriage to Ilocos Sur Vice Governor DV (for Deogracias Victor) Savellano, seldom comes to Manila na unless may importanteng dahilan. Otherwise, she keeps house na lang for her husband in Cabugao, a town in Ilocos Sur.
She comes to Manila only when she misses children Danica and Oyo Sotto na may kanya-kanyang pamilya na rin. Or if she has to accompany Vice Gov. DV to visit his 17-year-old daughter, a high school student na sa Maynila nag-aaral.
Featured nga rin pala si Dina in a special role sa When the Love is Gone, which is set to open bukas, Nov. 27, in theaters nationwide.
The film, directed by Andoy Ranay and produced by Viva Films, reunite Dina with one of her former favorite leading men, Gabby Concepcion. Also starring are Alice Dixson, Jake Cuenca, and Andi Eigenmann.
When in Manila, she takes advantage na rin on checking her negosyo on display at the Victorino’s Restaurant in one of the Scout areas in Quezon City, which the Savellanos own. She calls her business La Bonne Vie na ang mga ipinagbibili ay mga produktong gawa sa Ilocos, such as salt, vinegar, kape, bagoong, chicharon, at mga hinabing kumot, Ilocano style.
Ibang-iba nga ang aura ni Dina when you see her now. Maganda pa rin siya at evident na maligaya siya sa kanyang buhay-maybahay ngayon.
