In Ekstra, Batangas Governor Vilma Santos first crack sa indie film and where Marian Rivera appears in a special role, the latter locked lips pa kina Piolo Pascual and Tom Rodriguez.
Both Piolo at Tom, like Marian, ay maiksi lang ang role sa Ekstra. And they all did it, they said for ‘‘the love of Ate Vi.’’
By the way, Piolo, likewise, together with Richard Yap, whom Ate Vi fondly calls Ser Chief, escorted the Batangas lady governor at the premiere of Ekstra at the Cinema 7 Megamall last Tuesday.
The event, no doubt, was star-studded, as most of Ser Chief’s co-stars in Be Careful With My Hearts, incluÂding the popular series’ Business Unit Head, Jinny Ocampo, were in attenÂdance.
Ang aga-aga kapwa dumating nina Divina Valencia at Gloria Sevilla, two major stars of Be Careful… of course, nandun din ang pamilya ni Ser Chief.
Some other important stars na naÂmataan namin were comedians Pokwang at Eugene Domingo. Biro nga sa dalawa ni Eric John Salut of Dreamscape who emceed the occasion, halata kung sino ang favorite actress ng dalawa.
Namataan din namin ang Star Magic head na sina Direk Johnny Manahan at Mariole Alberto. And, of course, Malou Santos, head naman ng Star Cinema.
Direk Marlon, definitely, is directing na Torky and My Little Bossing…, Metro Manila Filmfest entry for this year ng produksiyon nina Kris Aquino (Kris Aquino Productions), Vic Sotto (M-Zet Entertainment) and Tony Tuviera (ATP Entertainment). Kris mismo raw handpicked him for the job, which previously, was offered to direk Joyce Bernal. Torky and My Little Bossing… stars Vic and Kris. Introducing ang child stars na sina Bimby Yap at Ryzza Mae Dizon.
Of Ekstra, we all know that Jeffrey Jeturian of Be Careful with My Heart fame, directed it. As he said, long time dream niyang mai-direk si Ate Vi.
According to Ate Vi, it took them only 12 days to finish the movie. At nagpapasalamat siyang pumayag both sina Direk Jeffrey at Atty. Joji na once a week lang siya mag-report for shooting, since busy nga siya with her duties as Batangas Governor.
But, in fairness, to the movie, ‘di mo iisiping indie film ito na naghakot ng award sa Cinemalaya Filmfest, among which are the trophies for best actress for Ate Vi and best script for Direk Jeffrey.
For the movie, it was given the Jury Prize award.
Speaking of Direk Jeffrey, like Direk Marlon, he will soon be busy working on his directional assignment for the Metro Manila Filmfest, the movie version of the series, Be Careful With My Heart.
All the stars of the series, according to Star CineÂma head, Malou Santos, will be in the cast, especially, of course, Richard Yap, Jodi Sta. Maria and child star Mutya Urguia.
Sabi nga nina Divina at Gloria, ‘‘at least, muling masisilayan ang beauty namin sa big screen.’’
In their time, both Gloria and Divina were in demand for lead roles.
