MANILA, Philippines - Idaraos ang unang Philippine Sportswriters Association (PSA)-Sen. Chiz Escudero Cup shooting competition sa Marso 1 sa Armscor Shooting Center, 1st basement ng Makati Cinema Square.
Mismong si Escudero, isang active sport shooting enthusiast, ang mangangasiwa sa seminar para sa gun safety at shooting bilang isang sport.
Makakasama ng Senador si Armscor official Benjie L. Santos ukol sa nasabing shootfest na isa sa mga aktibidades ng PSA, ang mga miyembro ay mula sa iba’t ibang broadsheets at tabloids.
“This is just one of our ways to heighten interest in shooting as a sport, beginning with the sportswriters, who cover sporting competitions themselves,” ani Escudero, aktibo rin sa running at biking.
“I believe sport shooting is among the disciplines which the Filipino athlete stands at par with the best of the region, if not the world,” dagdag pa ng mambabatas.
Ayon kay PSA president Teddyvic Melendres, sports editor ng Philippine Daily Inquirer, ang nasabing aktibidad ng PSA para sa buwan ng Marso ay magsisimula sa ganap na alas-10 ng umaga sa pamamagitan ng seminar kasunod ang actual shooting competition.
