Honest trike driver honored

URDANETA CITY, Pangasinan , Philippines   – Honesty is alive and well in this city, as shown by a tricycle driver who turned over to police an HP laptop left by his passenger.

Mayor Amadeo Perez IV and Jeff Fanged, city police chief, cited Ogie Jacob of Barangay Dilan-Paurido who turned over to the police station a laptop left by his passenger Jezza Mazalayan, a bank employee from Cebu City.

Mazalayan rode in Jacob’s tricycle on Aug. 4 at 10 p.m.

She reported her lost laptop to the police station and a minute later, Jacob showed up to report it with the intention of looking for the owner.

Jacob said, “It’s better to be honest because I know God will give more than that if you do good to others.”

Fanged said he is elated at Jacob’s laudable acts, adding that he hopes more would emulate his good deeds.

The Facebook page of the Urdaneta City Police Station was flooded with praise and admiration for the honesty shown by Jacob.
