MANILA, Philippines - The Pangasinan police recently launched a project dubbed POLICE C.A.R.T (community assistance and referral team) at the provincial police office in Lingayen.
Senior Supt. Moro Virgilio Lazo, officer-in-charge of the Police Regional Office 1 (PRO1), said the project will further enhance police presence and bring the PNP closer to the community as it will provide continuous assistance to the people.
He lauded Senior Supt. Marlou Chan, then the Pangasinan police director and now chief of the Regional Directorial Staff of PRO1, for conceptualizing the project.
Every police station will be given a Police CART.
Lazo also expressed hope that the project, along with the Patrol 101 program, will help in the reduction of crime. He also said the project will be replicated in other provinces of the Ilocos Region.
For his part, Senior Supt. Sterling Blanco, officer-in-charge of the Pangasinan PNP, said every police station can have additional carts which can be placed in strategic locations in their respective areas of responsibilities.
