MANILA, Philippines – Cebu-based Manny O wines garnered a total of nine international awards in 2010, a validation by the general public as well as wine experts on the brand’s vision to produce wines to suit the culture and taste, adaptability and impression of the Asian and the New Global palate.
At the Hong Kong International Wine & Spirit Competition, the first and largest wine competition in Asia, held in November, Discipulus Blanc won two awards in two food pairing categories: with sashimi and with dim sum. Agapitos Branco and Agapitos Rosé also received distinctions.
At the same competition, Sumiller won awards in two categories: one in the Red Wine Category and one in the Food Pairing Category, with braised abalone.
Sumiller also picked up awards at the MUNDUSvini International Wine Competition in Neustadt, Germany in September, and the Premios Arribe 2010 in Salamanca, Spain and the International Wine Route Vinduero-Vindouro in August.
Bibulus was awarded at the Concours des Grands Vins de France in Mâcon, France in April.
