Concert for the Children

During half a full moon ago, dahlings, a tres successful fund raising event was held at the residence of Archie and Ling Ling King. Prime movers for this wonderful event were Philippine Cerebral Palsy Inc. trustees Raquel Garcia, Eric Pe Benito and Ling Ling. It served as a kick-off for the sponsor a child program of the pcpi.

The 50-year-old center currently treats over 300 Filipinos, providing special education and treatment to an average of 90 CPs a day. It costs P1,000 a month or P12,000 a year to treat one child.

The event was emceed by John Lesaca, also a trustee. Performing arias and other classical pieces were soprano Rachelle Gerodias, tenor Nolyn Cabahug, flutist Tony Maigue and the Manila Philharmonic Orchestra with conductor Rodel Colmenar.

Apres the show, two CPs and one blind adult rendered three touching numbers, directed by music therapist Celeste Sanchez. The audience, palanggas, was in tears when Jaime Carmona, Eileen Fernandez and Celso Conti rendered their songs. Jose Mari Chan even approached the performers and offered to sing with them next time they perform.

The search for the newest "it" spot in Makati ended when Ice Vodka Bar popped its bottles for the first time one enchanted evening at Greenbelt 3. There was hardly any space as bar owners Choy Cojuangco, Raffy Suarez, Antonio Reina and MTV VJ Sarah Meier brought out a gigantic block of ice and the proverbial ax, a literal and compelling invitation to break the ice and party!

Enjoying their fill of spirits were Fernando Zobel, EJ Litton, TJ Manotoc, Monsour del Rosario, Alan and Thirdy Escaño and celebrities galore. Experience more of Ice Vodka Bar, the only chill-out place where spirits rise and temperatures drop!
