20 years of Galerie Joaquin

Since Galerie Joaquin opened in 2002, it has taken pride in bringing its clientele the best of Filipino modern and contemporary art. I remember when they opened their first branch in San Juan, which was walking distance from where I lived. This 2022, Galerie Joaquin is celebrating its 20th anniversary.

The Galerie Joaquin Group forged a path to share art and introduce artists from its branch at The Podium mall in 2005 to new locations around the city. In September last year the group opened a sister gallery in Davao City’s Azuela Cove.

Most recently, Galerie Joaquin celebrated its expansion of branches situated in Ayala Malls’ One Bonifacio High Street in BGC and in Rockwell’s Power Plant Mall.

Through the unified involvement and shared engagements with sister galleries such as the Galerie Francesca Group, Galerie Stephanie Group, and Galerie Raphael Group, along with interlocking arrangements with museum institutions and publications, including Fundacion Sansó and Art+ Magazine, as well as MoCAF or Modern and Contemporary Art Festival, the gallery has not only reinforced its position in the industry but also continued its unique role of bridging art to other creative industries and beyond.

Galerie Joaquin opened in Singapore. By December of 2006, in partnership with British investors, Galerie Joaquin opened its doors to a broader Southeast Asian market through its space along Cuscaden Road at The Regent of Singapore.

Galerie Joaquin’s 20th Anniversary Dinner was a thanksgiving affair honoring the many people who have paved the way for the success of the group. From its employees and partners in the industry to the Philippines’ most prominent artists, the fun celebration filled the Rigodon Ballroom of The Peninsula Manila.

Headed by Ricky Francisco and Susanne Tiausas, the senior management and heads of galleries made a surprise tribute to founder and managing director Jack Teotico. Teotico shared a heartwarming message and a joyful toast to everyone who has supported him and his endeavors through the years.

Afterwards, guests were singing and dancing to the energetic beats of Juan Miguel Salvador and The Authority Band. The event was managed by the Imprint Media Group of Tedrick Yau and Rica Barcelon, while the decor was created by Gideon Hermosa.
