A landmark transformation was finally unveiled as Marco Polo Ortigas Manila celebrated a milestone occasion with its grand opening early this month. Honoring the grand launch with his presence was President Benigno S. Aquino III as he delivered his keynote speech for the affair poetically entitled “Voyage.” Also gracing the affair were Tourism Secretary Ramon Jimenez Jr., Bureau of Internal Revenue commissioner Kim Henares and Pasig City Mayor Maribel Eusebio.
Samuel Po, president and CEO of Xin Tian Ti Development Corp. and a giant in his business of supplying personal care products, provided everyone with an unforgettable journey, reminiscent of a grand luxury cruise, where guests discovered the wonders that the hotel has to offer. President of Marco Polo Hotels Eric Waldburger mentioned how the first Marco Polo Hotel to open in the capital of the Philippines signaled a whole new dimension in showcasing the renowned brand of Asian hospitality embodied in the pioneering spirit of Marco Polo.
Leading the voyage that evening was Marco Polo Ortigas Manila’s genial and very efficient general manager Adriano Vences with wonderful support from director of sales and marketing Pearl Peralta-Maclang, director of communications Francis de Leon and the rest of the hotel’s hardworking team. The well-attended event had an interesting mix of guests from the diplomatic corps, government officials, society figures and business leaders including Marco Polo Hotels, Philippines area general manager and Marco Polo Plaza Cebu’s general manager Hans Hauri.
Entertainment was remarkable with a fantastic fashion show by talented designer Rhett Eala, the very lovely and artistic fashion accessory designer Ann Ong, with her stunning muse Linda Ley. There were also a spectacle of lights, a delicious gastronomic feast and more!
