The very popular nightspot Seventh High celebrated its second year in the nightlife with a massive disco party entitled “Discofied.” For the past two years, Seventh High has lived up to its name by bringing the hottest events and local and foreign performers to the country.
The night brought out hot new acts and household names such as Nyoy Volante, Club Mwah and Centier. Prizes were also awarded to the stunning ladies who were dubbed as the night’s “Glamour Goddesses,” among them Miss World 2011 first runner-up Gwendoline Ruais. Miss World 1993 second runner-up Ruffa Gutierrez was announced as the night’s “Disco Denizen.”
The program was capped off when hosts of the night, Denise Laurel and brothers Anthony and David Semerad, asked the Seventh High management to join them onstage for a glittery toast while a champagne parade marched from the walkway all the way to the club. DJ Mars Miranda and Seventh High’s resident DJs Buzz and Ron spun their funky retro mixes all through the night.
Others seen that night were Miriam Quiambao, Kris Lawrence and Chris Everingham. Discofied would not be possible without Versace Yellow Diamond, together with BlackBerry, Imation, AiAiAi, Soundfreaq, Cetaphil and Petrol.

Charitable Marthas
Martha’s Vineyard, an organization of women in the service of the poor, celebrated its 28th anniversary recently at the Manila Polo Club with a Mass officiated by Manila Archbishop Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle, together with Msgr. Bong Lo, the spiritual director of Martha’s Vineyard and Fr. Anton Pascual of Caritas Manila.
The occasion launched the organizations’s new ministry in partnership with Caritas Manila. This new outreach of Martha’s Vineyard is the feeding and schooling project of 300 children in Baseco under Caritas HAPAG-ASA, an integrated nutrition program. The aim is to give catechism instructions and to feed undernourished children who do not have a balanced diet and are prone to life-threatening illnesses. Archbishop Tagle gave his blessing for the project during Mass.
Every week, members go to Baseco to assist in weighing the children to check on the improvement of their health. To mark the occasion of the end of the first semester of the feeding program, the “Marthas” attended a Mass celebrated by Fr. Pascual and gift packages were distributed to the participants.
Fashion for a cause
Rags2Riches launched its 2012 Holiday Collection at the Power Plant Mall through an exhibit featuring creations from bag designer Amina Aranaz-Alunan.
Presented by RCBC Bankard Diamond Platinum MasterCard, the event showcased bags and accessories made by the nanays of Payatas using upcycled scrap cloth and Amina’s favored materials such as mother of pearl, straw and wood.
Another highlight of the event was the turnover by RCBC Bankard Diamond Platinum MasterCard of its P200,000-donation to Gawad Kalinga. The donation is part of the card’s Diamond Cares program where Bankard donates 25 centavos for every P100 spent to Gawad Kalinga SIBOL, a value-based education program for kids.
RCBC Bankard Diamond Platinum MasterCard cardholders also got exclusive invites to the event and availed themselves of special discounts to the Rags2Riches 2012 Holiday Collection. They got a chance to win a pair of Miladay diamond earrings courtesy of RCBC Bankard Diamond MasterCard.
