A night of glamour

It was a starry, starry night as the Catholic Women’s Club (CWC) celebrated its 91st anniversary with an elaborate dinner-dance with the theme “Hollywood: A Night of Glamour.” All the guests arrived at the Rigodon Ballroom of The Peninsula Manila, gamely clad in costumes of their favorite film characters and other immortal screen legends to celebrate the golden years of Hollywood. Led by the indefatigable CWC president Sol Tan-Gatue, who was dressed as Empress Alexandra, the CWC ladies were all lovely as they paraded like stars from tinseltown.

The dinner-dance is an annual fund-raising project of the CWC for the benefit of its numerous outreach programs. Congratulations to this year’s working committee led by its chairperson Bulacan Rep. Linabelle Ruth Villarica, who was drop-dead gorgeous as Queen Cleopatra.

Dinner at The Pen was superb as usual and dancing extended to the wee hours with the music of the Nonoy Lopez Band.

Congratulations, ladies!

Union Jack-inspired style

The British are coming over again, this time, to add more style and chic pieces to the Filipinos’ wardrobe with the recent launch of the much-anticipated Lee Cooper collection in Manila.

Lee Cooper Global chief executive officer Andy Dunkley and Lee Cooper Philippines vice president Henry Ng welcomed diplomats, society A-listers and fashionistas at the posh Marriott Hotel where they experienced a Union Jack-inspired fete filled with hues of red, white and blue.

Eight local personalities were chosen as brand ambassadors for their exemplary performance in their respective fields, reflecting Lee Cooper’s commitment to passion and excellence. British Ambassador Stephen Lillie, among other luminaries, graced the occasion that will change the local fashion scene.

Congratulations to Lee Cooper for starting a big wave in the country!
