Exciting dinner shows by the beach

What makes dinner buffets by the beach at Plantation Bay Resort and Spa extra exciting is the show-stopping performance of the resort’s exceptionally talented staff. Rockin’ USA, Sahara Nights and Brazilian Fever are just some of the themes for the song-and-dance showcase featured nightly (except Sundays) at the Galapagos Beach. The resort’s brilliant and creative general manager Efren Belarmino truly knows what memorable resort vacations are made of, as beach dinners at the secluded, ultra-luxurious resort in Mactan Island, Cebu literally turns into a feast for the senses! Themed breakfast buffet is also served at the resort’s Kilimanjaro Kafé. Bravo to Efren and the Plantation Bay team!

White party at the Mandarin

It was truly a fabulous spectacle as Mandarin Oriental, Manila’s MO Lounge transformed itself into a hip dance club for Nocturne: The White Party Year IV. A sea of people garbed in white danced to the exhilarating beat as the DJs spun the music. Seen having fun with outgoing Mandarin Oriental, Manila general manager Mark Bradford and current director of communications Charisse Chuidian were Vickie Perez-de Tagle and Maricris Davila-Cang.

The dapper and super efficient GM will assume the same post in Mandarin Oriental, Jakarta. Good luck, Mark! I am sure you’ll do a fantastic job as usual. Kudos, too, to the hotel’s food and beverage director Chico Angeles for designing the party setup — all white with splashes of purple for the launch of the perfect night bubbly Taittinger Nocturne Sec Champagne — and directing such an awesome party. Also seen among the revelers were Mimi Reyes, marketing manager of Werdenberg International, the exclusive distributor of the elite champagne, Rustan’s heiress and singer Bea Tantoco and FedEx managing director and American Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines president Rhicke Jennings.

Soulful sojourn

Nowadays, the term “ladies who lunch” has gone past its frivolous meaning. A number of women from the “Everybody’s Group” led by Minerva Tanseco do not only lunch — they also pray and do good works for others. In Tagaytay, recently, the group participated in a prayer and recollection led by Rev. Father Tony Rosales, former parish priest of Santuario de San Antonio Parish in Forbes Park, Makati. God bless you, ladies!

A soiree in Spain

The Philippine Ambassador to Spain Carlos Salinas and his wife Lita Tanseco-Salinas hosted an exclusive gathering at the InterContinental Hotel in Madrid for their friends in the diplomatic circle and the Filipino community. The University of Santo Tomas (UST) Singers choral ensemble performed at the event attended by VIP guests such as artist Betsy Westendorp, Angeles Menendez, Manolo Gonzalez and Mari Borao. Cheers!
