It takes a truly exceptional dish to make it permanently to the discerning Pinoy palate’s hot list.
This is something Wee Nam Kee is proud to have achieved. Boasting of the best Hainanese chicken rice in its native Singapore, the restaurant has grown from a humble shop to a brand that makes a name in the global food scene.
I make it a point to go to this restaurant every time I’m in Singapore. Last year, it opened its first international outlet at The Ayala Triangle. It opened recently its second branch at Serendra Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.
The Serendra branch provides another venue for food lovers to have their fill of Wee Nam Kee’s delectable signature dishes: the renowned chicken rice prepared in two ways — roasted or steamed. The much-acclaimed cereal prawns is another dish that keeps patrons from coming back for more.
Wee Nam Kee’s authentic taste is bolstered by the restaurant’s seasoned chefs who brought their extensive culinary experience from Singapore to ensure the genuine taste of the acclaimed chicken rice and other signature dishes.

How it is to be a man for others
The Ateneo de Manila High School Class 4E Batch 1986 had a very busy social calendar towards the end of 2011!
Spearheaded by Cavite Gov. Jonvic Remulla and ably backed by close friends Raffy Roa, Ariel Vicente, Den Abesamis, Dino Lising, Alex Panlilio and PJ Exconde, the seemingly endless reunions began as early as last year where long-lost classmates were reunited after almost two decades of no contact. These gentlemen are my batchmates!
First up was a simple dinner birthday celebration of Governor Remulla at Casa Armas on Jupiter Street, where the members finalized the logistics of the First Governor Jonvic Remulla Invitational Golf Cup at the Eagle Ridge Golf and Country Club. The endeavor turned out to be a huge success, thanks to the support of Meralco, McDonald’s, Coke and Unilab! It raised funds for various worthwhile projects of the province of Cavite and Ateneo de Manila High School.
The finale of these dizzying round of events was the Silver Jubilee Homecoming of the whole 1986 batch, which was held at the high school covered courts. Everyone had a grand time reminiscing and looking forward to how it is to be a true blue-blooded Atenean, a “man for others.”
