Luxury in a bottle

While known for its iconic luxury bottle, Johnnie Walker Blue Label launches its new look to celebrate past and present epic achievements at the Tivoli Restaurant of the Mandarin Oriental Manila Hotel.

Jeremy Lee, Johnnie Walker reserve brand ambassador, started the event with an exclusive session of whisky appreciation with the Master Class — a Johnnie Walker international program.

A private dinner and cocktails were also held with everyone, including non- Scotch drinkers, like myself, marvelling at the smooth taste of Johnnie Walker Blue Label. That night, general manager of Diageo Philippines Arif Esenc said, “Alexander Walker’s creation, Old Highland Whisky, quickly became a dominant force in the global Scotch Whisky market. It was a remarkable 19th-century achievement. Johnnie Walker Blue Label is a luxury whisky for those celebrating their own achievements today – those who have created something extraordinary, those who have accomplished something special and changed the world around them. Our new packaging celebrates the original 19th-century bottle, with its iconic square shape, blue glass and thick glass base. It has been introduced to ensure Johnnie Walker Blue Label stand proudly as the luxury blend to celebrate these moments.”

True to the character of Johnnie Walker Blue Label, the re-launch with the new bottle marks another era of skill and craft that can only be achieved by true masters of whisky blending.

Celebrating a ‘new me’

A lot of positive things come into play when there’s a “new you” — you look and feel so much better. This was the inspiration behind Re:New Me, a lifestyle event that showcased how the Cohen Program has effectively transformed the lives of many Filipinos in their quest to achieve health and wellness.

For the past 25 years, the Cohen Program has helped thousands of people worldwide shed fat rapidly and safely by an average of eight to 10 pounds a month, allowing them to live a healthy lifestyle via an individually-designed eating plan.

Formulated by Dr. Rami Cohen, MD, an international specialist renowned for his research on the hormones involved in obesity and weight loss, the Cohen Program is based on internationally-accepted medical research that uses food as medicine.

An event to celebrate this was held and flying in from Australia to grace the event were Cohen’s Lifestyle clinic director Norman Burd, Australasia coordinator Rosemary Burd and Sarah Dowse. A highlight of the event was a fashion show with the Cohen graduates who have transformed beautifully. There was also a photo exhibit, which showed the before and after photos of the other Cohen graduates, as well as informative talks on how people can overcome obesity. Chef Him Uy de Baron of Nomama restaurant also conducted a cooking demo that showed how meals fit for the Cohen Program can be made even tastier and healthier.
