Continuing its centennial year celebration, the YGC treated its valued employees to the YGC Employee Day right in the country's biggest amusement theme park, the Enchanted Kingdom. Corporate officers, division heads, and regular employees had a fun-filled day in EK's thrilling rides, games and other spectacles.
It was the first time such a gathering came about in the YGC's 100 years of existence, showcasing how much it has grown from the time it was founded by Don Enrique T. Yuchengco up to the current era of growth and expansion under Chairman Ambassador Alfonso T. Yuchengco.
By sundown, the show of force became more apparent as the YGC performed the Parade of Colors, a long procession that culminated in an exuberant rally before the on-stage presence of the YGC officers – led by RCBC Chairperson Helen Y. Dee, Malayan Insurance President Yvonne S. Yuchengco, and other heads of the various member-companies.
The whole affair was far from being just fun and games, though. Giving greater social significance to it all, the YGC took the opportunity to partner with the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) and join Earth Hour 2011, producing the country's biggest outdoor gathering of employees for this occasion.
Going beyond Earth Hour, the YGC even enriched its participation to this worldwide phenomenon by launching its own environment initiative, the YGC Earth Care Program, fortified by the pledge of support made by each of the corporate presidents of its member companies. Henceforth, all employees will do their share in practicing environmentally friendly habits and contributing to the significant reduction of carbon footprint and alleviation of global warming.
In this way, the YGC Employee Day proved to be a resounding success, for employees and for Mother Nature.
