Hollywood-themed intern's night

MANILA, Philippines - Medical interns recently walked the red carpet for a night of glitz and glam in a Hollywood-themed Grand Interns Night hosted by Pharex HealthCorp at the SMX Convention Center.

“Glitterazzi,” as it was called, had interns enjoying a night of fun as they joined in celebrating the company’s fruitful partnership with the medical community.

President and CEO of Pharex HealthCorp Tomas Marcelo Agana III said, “The Grand Interns Night is our way of helping interns choose their field of specialization and educating them on the value of generic medicines while having fun in the process. This also reflects our commitment to be staunch partners with our future doctors in our pursuit to provide high-quality and affordable healthcare to Filipinos.”

An audio-visual presentation was played that also aimed to help interns choose their preferred field of specialization. Besides giving medical interns a venue where they could learn more about their future field of specialization, the event truly gave guests one unforgettable night where they could enjoy with colleagues.

The food served was not only delicious, it also had funny and witty names after famous American shows and movies: Entourage Starters for appetizers; The Godfather’s Italian Choices for the delectable pasta dishes; The Poseidon Food Adventure for the fish fillet; How I Meat Your Mother for the beef caldereta; Beverly Hills 90210oohhh! for the roast chicken; Leaving Las Veggies for the buttered vegetables; The Rice is Right! for steamed rice; and TMZ — Tailor Made Zerts for desserts.

The party was emceed by Maggie Wilson and DJ Gino Quillamor and opened with a medley by La Diva. There was a surprise number by young actress and TV star Iya Villania. Survivor Philippines castaway Mico Aytona and ASAP Sessionista Juris Fernandez also serenaded the guests with musical numbers.

There was also a special mini-fashion show that featured the creations of designers Veejay Floresca and Jerome Lorico, modeled by Phoemela Baranda and Daniel Matsunaga.

The highlight of the event was the Interns’ Show Choir Competition with teams from Fort Bonifacio General Hospital, Medical City, Fatima University Medical Center, San Juan De Dios Hospital, Far Eastern University, Department of Health Integrated Internship Program, University of Perpetual Help Biñan, De La Salle University Medical Center and Quezon City General Hospital. The P50,000 grand prize went to the interns from the Department of Health Integrated Internship Program who wowed judges Juris, Moy Ortiz of The Company and Pharex director Jose Augusto Pascual with their Moulin Rouge-inspired performance.
