Spanish fans were sent out by EiSkin to serve as invitations for an exclusive luncheon that was the media launch for Cosmelan, a new whitening and anti-aging cream that sent multimedia celebrity and newest Belo Medical Group endorser Kris Aquino swearing by its effects.
EiSkin head Rubby Sy introduced the foreign guests and met with the lifestyle press. Rubby affirmed that Cosmelan is a versatile and dynamic topical lightening product compatible with any complexion. The skin becomes bright and rejuvenated in one to four weeks. In town for the launch were medical expert Dr. Hernan Pinto, Carles Font, the export manager and son of Mesoestetic owners, and Clara Seres Riog, who flew all the way from Spain.
Pinto pointed out that Cosmelan is designed to prevent and improve the imperfections caused by hyper-pigmentations. With external treatment to normalize acne-prone skin, Cosmelan reduces and eliminates skin blemishes, increases skin luminosity and equalizes skin tone. Now getting rid of the unsightly melanin patches on the face is easier.
The intimate affair organized by event consultant and imaging expert Jojie Dingcong took place at Terrace at the 5th in Greenbelt 5, which was adorned with white flowers and silk drapes. The superb spread was prepared by Cecile Ysmael who personally attended to guests. Florist Robert Blancaflor embellished the venue with his white blooms, hanging from the ceiling and elegantly arranged on the long tables. Terrace partners Maricris Zobel, Menchu Soriano and Carol Garcia were present at the launch.
Lunch consisted of baked Shiitake mushroom in filo pastry, cream of vegetable soup, terrace salad in balsamic dressing, a choice of prime Angus roast beef belly or grilled salmon in mango and cilantro salsa, and panna cotta for dessert. Model and NU 107 DJ Raya Mananquil was the program’s host.
Cosmelan is distributed by EiSkin, the local company that markets Mesoestetic products. Cosmelan products and treatments are offered exclusively in all Belo branches and other dermatology clinics nationwide.
Madison state of mind
It was a big day that marked Madison’s promise to differentiate itself from all others, serving only the biggest and best value US-certified Angus beef in town. Man-size is the best way to describe the way Madison cuts its steak — it is a serving big enough to feed a hungry family of four or five. The portions at Madison are unapologetically large. A big part of the Madison re-launch was the introduction of its totally revamped menu — big portions matched with big value! The restaurant’s latest promo is “Encore!” which can be availed of until Aug. 31.
Guests were divided into groups of four and were asked to join a surprise game that had them consuming as much of the “Encore!” meal as they could within 10 minutes. The “Encore!” is a complete, value-priced meal that consists of freshly made soup of the day, fresh garden salad, Mediterranean marinara pasta, a whopping 18-inch Quatro Stagioni Pizza and topped off with 600g US-certified Angus steak. The “Encore!” proved to be substantial enough to satisfy a team of tall basketball players, challenging enough for the all-Caucasian coaching staff of British School Manila and appetizing enough to delight the group of food magazine publishers. The coaching staff of British School Manila, the winner of the game, was awarded P10,000 to be given to a charity of their choice. The “Encore!” was made available to diners at a promotional price of P2,880 only.
Others spotted that night were basketball players led by Nick Belasco of Talk n’ Text, Greg Yu and Emy Arcilla of Cats Motors, Jerry Tiu of Tagaytay Highlands, Myrna Borromeo of GNC and Osim, Ed Higgs of Cathay Pacific Airways, Sari Yap, Nana Ozaeta, Anthony Suntay, Becky Garcia, Heidi Ng, Audie Gemora, Nancy Binay and Pepito Angeles.
With a totally revamped menu and enhanced dining experience, Madison is definitely a place to visit. Madison Steakhouse is located at the ground floor of Greenbelt 5, Ayala Center, Makati.

Eat green, go vegan
The Establishment celebrated the success of its second vegan dinner hosted by model and vegan enthusiast Milena Krahulcova in partnership with chef Godfrey Laforteza. The event was attended by friends from the media, sponsors (Premium Wine Exchange, Sierre Madre Inc. and PETA) and foodies who came to support this new culinary movement as well as to donate to the KIDS Foundation, the beneficiary of the event.
The evening kicked off with the opening remarks by Milena. The buffet included tofu lasagna, crispy Thai spring rolls, mushroom stroganoff pie and mixed vegetable sushi. Acoustic band Plan M serenaded the guests.
Godfrey said, “Vegan food is commonly misinterpreted as bland and tasteless food. But with the new introduction of vegan dinners here at Establishment, I hope people will see the endless possibilities of how vegetables can be prepared and presented as the main course.”
Given the favorable turnout of over 100 guests, Establishment was able to raise P20,000 for the KIDS Foundation, a non-profit organization, founded by Diether Ocampo, that is geared toward improving the lives of the youth.
